Vasuvianite

The name "Vesuvianite" comes from the original locale of the gemstone at Mount Vesuvius, Italy. Vesuvianite forms as a result of contact metamorphism on impure limestones and is usually found with other exotic minerals.

Vasuvianite is found in a wide variety of colors including brown, yellow, blue, purple and green.
